Long-time general manager of Omaha stations WOW (AM590), WOW-FM, and WOW-TV (Channel 6), Frank Fogarty also headed the broadcasting division of the Meredith Corporation.
Fogarty took over WOW’s management reins in August 1950 succeeding the late John Gillin, soon rising to VP of Meredith Broadcasting in the coming years.
He was president of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association from 1964-1965. Fogarty was then asked to become the NBA Executive Director and managed the day-to-day operations of the NBA until 1979.
Nationally, Fogarty chaired two terms on the board of directors of the Radio Advertising Bureau (1956-1963) and was a charter member of the Television Bureau of Advertising.
Frank Fogarty passed away in 1983.
